Lawrence F. Bruder
President & Chief Executive Officer
Before joining Guava Technologies, Mr. Bruder held business
leadership roles as vice president at Applied Biosystems within the
functional proteomics division and for Becton Dickinson’s (BD)
biosciences business. During his tenure with BD, he held positions that
included general manager of the immunocytometry systems division,
general manager of the industrial microbiology business, and vice
president of marketing for immunocytometry systems. Mr. Bruder has held
leadership positions of increasing responsibility in marketing, sales,
and product management over a 12-year career at Leica, Inc. and Olympus
Corporation. He holds a Masters of Management degree from Kellogg
Management School at Northwestern University with a concentration in
marketing and economics. He earned his Bachelors of Science Degree from
the Rochester Institute of Technology and also completed advanced
executive coursework at Harvard University.
Donald D. Huffman
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Huffman has more than 25 years of financial experience and
leadership with Fortune 200, mid-sized, and emerging growth companies,
including senior management positions with several life science
companies. He was most recently Chief Financial Officer and Principal
of Sanderling Ventures, a biomedical venture capital firm. Previously,
Mr. Huffman was Chief Financial Officer for Genteric, Inc. and three
publicly traded companies: Microcide Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Celtrix
Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and EndoSonics Corporation, a medical device
company. Mr. Huffman received his Bachelors of Science degree from
Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration
degree from State University of New York at Buffalo. He also completed
executive coursework at Stanford University.
David A. King, PhD
Vice President R&D and Operations
David King
joined Guava Technologies in 2004 and is currently Vice President of Research
& Development and Operations. At Guava, David has led the development of
several new instrument platforms and reagent families aimed at the cellular
analysis marketplace. Prior to joining Guava, David was Director, New Product
Development at iolon developing advanced MEMS-based optical components for
telecommunications. David also spent 10 years at Hewlett-Packard and Agilent
Technologies as a Principal Scientist performing R&D in the areas of
micro-array nucleic acid scanners, medical monitoring equipment, and medical
diagnostics. Dr King has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Applied Physics from
StanfordUniversity and a B.Sc.(Hons) in Chemical Physics from
the
University of
New South Wales in
Sydney,
Australia.
Paul Wheeler, PhD
Vice President Sales & Marketing
Mr. Wheeler joined Guava Technologies in 2005. Before
becoming VP of Sales, he held several positions with the company, including UK Products Specialist, UK
Sales Manager, and Director of Operations for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Mr. Wheeler has earned both a
Bachelors of Science with honors in cell and molecular biology from Oxford Brookes
University, and a PhD with focus in
immunology, biochemistry, and transplantation from the University of Oxford,
The Queens College. While at the University
of Oxford, Mr. Wheeler
was honored with the Wellcome Trust Prize PhD Studentship.
